Insight – A River of Living Water

Ezekiel 47: 1-12  selected portions…NKJV

“He brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east.  He brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gateway that faces east and there was water running out on the right side.  The man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits and the waters measured ankle deep.  Again he measured a thousand cubits and the water came up to my knees, again he measured a thousand cubits and the water came up to my waist.  Again he measured a thousand and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim.  The water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley and enters the sea.  When it reaches the sea, it’s waters are healed.  Every living thing wherever the rivers go, will live.  There will be a very great multitude of fish, but the swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt.  Along the bank of the river; on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, their fruit will be for food and their leaves for medicine.”

Water is often likened to the Holy Spirit.  The East is often thought of as the birthplace of civilization, the possible location of the Garden of Eden.  It is also the place where Biblical history takes place.

With that in mind, I share this insight with you:

Water.   [the Holy Spirit outpouring from the throne of God]

It comes from the right and flows East.   [Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father, His legal position after the cross]

Ezekiel was brought out from the North side.  [God’s throne is “on the sides of the north”]  The “man” [angel] then took Ezekiel East.  [Israel is East where life on Earth began and where it will all end.

The “man” measured a thousand cubits and the water was ankle deep. [babes in Messiah] Then it was measured again a thousand cubits and it was knee deep and then waist deep. [children of God] Again a thousand cubits and it was a river.  [the mature sons of God]

Each of these measurings can be considered to be coinciding with moves of the Holy Spirit in the Earth.

The waters flow to the sea.  [The sea is often thought of as mankind]  Wherever the waters go there is healing.  Healing is needed when something is sick or diseased.  Because of war and natural disasters preceding and during the seven year period when God deals with the natural seed of Abraham, there will be much destruction and devastation.

Trees with fruit and leaves is referred to also in the book of Revelation for the healing of the nations.

The First outpouring on the Day of Pentecost came upon the disciples/apostles of Jesus.  The first generation church had only an ankle deep outpouring, in that it only touched a few people in the known world.

The Second outpouring of the Holy Spirit coincided with the first and second great awakenings, which touched many nations and many people and swept many into the Kingdom of God.  These would be the waist deep people and where we still are today, this is often called the “Church Age”.  [having gone through the “Dark Ages” where the adversary stole truth from the Body of Christ, God began to restore what was lost.  Martin Luther was used, as were others to restore Salvation by Faith to the Body of Messiah. then subsequently, the remainder of what was lost to the kingdom of darkness, began to be restored.]

The third and final awakening is imminent and will sweep through the whole world touching every nation and tribe with the truth of the gospel.  There will not be one who will not have an opportunity to choose TRUTH.  [Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, the only way to the Father God]  There will be a great harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God.

If people do not choose the TRUTH, God will give them up to believe the lie; they will be deceived and enter into the kingdom of darkness which is already judged and headed for destruction.

When Messiah Yeshua, Jesus, comes to set up His Earthly Kingdom, He will deal with rebellion against the Kingdom.  For it is written that He must rule until all things are put under His feet and then He will turn the Kingdom over to His Father, Yahweh, God.

There will be an interim period of 1000 years after the “Church age” ends and the seven year period when God begins to work again with the natural seed of Abraham is over, where Messiah rules from Jerusalem as the absolute ruler of the world.  By the way, It is His by inheritance, His Father gave it to Him.

If this sounds close to another religion, it is.  There is real and there is counterfeit.  I was trained in the banking business to know the difference between the false and the real.  We studied the real, not the counterfeit.  When we got a counterfeit bill we instantly knew it was not real. Selah!

Thank you Father God for your plan for Earth and her inhabitants.  You are good.  Thank you that you are a God of mercy and judgment.  You are the righteous judge of all.  May your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.  Amen!

Other LIttle Boats

And a great windstorm arose and the waves beat into the boat…. They awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing!”  Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”  Mark 4:37-39

This passage of scripture also says there were other little boats with Him…but He was only in the boat with His disciples. In the book “Come Away My Beloved”, Frances J Roberts writes, “Check your course.  Chart it by My Word, hold to it with rigid determination, and do not be led aside by the other “little boats.”

How often in life do “other little boats” tell you what you should do, where you should go and with whom?

There is a God shaped vacuum in each of us.  Adam was created in His image and in His likeness.  We humans start at an early age telling others what to do.  God created humans to have dominion over nature and the creature kingdom, we were not given dominion over people. Check out Genesis 1: 26-30. God has given each of us positions of authority, places where we exercise that authority, but each human has a will and no other person is to violate that will.

Now, some of us are more “bossy” than others, but each of us has a determination in us to rule over or have dominion over someone or something, that god-like quality causes us to want to rule over other  people.  I believe that all humans resist either outwardly or inwardly, depending on our temperament, when someone tells us what to do.

Life presents us with opportunities.  An opportunity always comes with a choice.  We must make a decision to go though the open door or close it.  No decision is a “no” decision.  There is rarely a time when a decision is to be made, regarding some opportunity, that someone will not offer their advice.  What to do with that advice is the question

In simple matters like which mattress to buy a person can consult an expert, get advice from others or do some research regarding mattresses such as best-selling, most comfortable, durability etc.  In spiritual matters it becomes more difficult.  I was recently presented with a couple of opportunities and had to make a decision what to do.  There was not an easy answer.  I prayed much over it, seeking to know the will of the Lord in the matter.

In Christian circles we have been taught to “let peace be the umpire”.  As I prayed and considered these opportunities, I felt a struggle, I did not feel peace.  I felt pressure from other little boats to step up to the plate, to step forward and move through the doors.

One thing that many of us deal with is people pleasing, and the other “little boats” that are around us may present a stumbling block to the will of the Lord for our lives.  They mean well, and do not intend to cause us to stumble, but inadvertently they get in God’s way.  Only you and God can know what is “The Way” for you to walk, and seeking to know can come easily or with a struggle.  But always, as you press in to know and to do the will of the Lord, He will reveal His will to you.  Of course, that presupposes that you want the will of God, no matter what the answer would be.

The process of sorting everything out sometimes takes a while.  There can be many factors that come into play when making a decision.  Our own personality will color decisions, our station in life i.e. married or not, job or not, finances, other commitments etc., may all affect our choice; the pressures of fear, doubt or unbelief that come from the enemy of our souls can also play a big part in the process.

Ultimately, if Jesus is my Lord and I have yielded myself to Him, being led by His Holy Spirit, I must hear from Him, I must know what His will is for me and when the knowing finally comes, with it comes peace and the release of outside pressure.

Each believer has been called to be an ambassador of the gospel and each has been given gifts to use to accomplish that purpose.  To know and walk in your calling and your gifting is to walk in peace.

I think often of this scripture in I Corinthians 1:26-30  “Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you.  Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise.  And He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.  God chose things despised by the world things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.”    NLT

Pride and the lust for power is that which got the angel Lucifer thrown out of Heaven.  In my thinking it is the major corrupter of man-kind and it is so subtle.  It can arise undetected and at the worst times, times when we are in praise and worship, when we have had a fantastic spiritual experience and we feel so happy, or when we have been blessed by the Lord.  We want to tell everyone about it and our desire is that they see how blessed we have been by the Lord.  We don’t intend to take the glory from Him, but pride shows its ugly head as we shine the spotlight upon ourselves.  The enemy is subtle, cunning  Genesis 3:1

Intercession. We have been taught that it is “standing in the gap” for someone who cannot or will not stand for themselves.  Intercession can take the form of supplication, petition, warfare etc. for an individual, an organization, a state, a city or a nation.  It is a calling and a gifting.

All believers are to pray as it is written in I Timothy 2:1  “I exhort first of all that supplications, prayer, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence .”

I was impressed immediately upon my salvation to pray for my Dad, who was an alcoholic. As time went on I found myself praying more and more for family members.  I went forward from petition to supplication and then into warfare in behalf of others.  I began to pray for my church and the leaders, then I was led to pray for my state and the nation.  In 1991 I went to Israel and sensed that I was to be a watchman for Israel.  I am responsible for my assignment, but I can only pray as I am led by Holy Spirit.  I am the Lord’s, He is mine and we are one.  Jesus did what He saw the Father do, can I do more than that?  No!

Intercessors have a special relationship with God.  They see and hear things from the throne room for their specific assignments and they often receive blessings from the Father.  It is tempting to reveal secrets that are shared but one must learn when to speak and when to pray.

We are all subject to the sinful pride of life, the lust of the flesh and lust of the eye; we are all a work in progress, we all need our Savior…there are no exceptions.  Jesus has won the victory over sin and when we face troubling situations we can turn to Him and receive His victory in our behalf. ” We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”  Romans 8:37

The bottom line for my message today is:

You have been called, gifted and anointed to be an ambassador for Heaven.  You are to see to it that the will of the Father is done on earth as in Heaven and you do that through prayer. Your assignment is also to represent your Father to the world, stand against encroachment of the enemy in your territory and bring the “Good News” to those around you…and sometimes you use words, as Kent S. says.

Our Father highly prizes obedience.  As we submit ourselves wholly to the Lord and to His will, resisting the enemy, we can put him to flight.  We must take our stand on/in the shed blood of Jesus and walk in His light, being obedient to Holy Spirit.  Great peace have they who love the Word of God and do His will.  Amen!
